Project:  Owl Moon Multidisciplinary Unit
Curriculum Area(s): Language Arts, Math, Science & Technology
Age/Grade:  Third Grade
Project Summary:  The students will be able to preview and predict what they think will happen in the story Owl Moon .  They will accomplish this by listening to the selection summary, reading the title and looking at the pictures.  Next, the students will set a purpose for their reading to help them focus on important ideas and events.  Lastly, they will demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter by their research on story facts and then be able to write, edit and publish them into classroom books.  Math integration involves the study of time.  Science Integration involves the study of owl pellets and simple machines.  Technology is integrated with research and publishing.
